A traditional full denture requires the remaining teeth in the patient’s mouth be removed. Partials may or may not require removal of teeth. In order to build a denture or partial the dentist takes measurements and makes models of the patient’s jaws. The process of modeling the patient’s mouth is extremely important to ensuring the patient’s comfort with the denture device. Slight mis-measurements can cause constant discomfort.
